Bible Verses for the Week

“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven
 and do not return there but water the earth,
 making it bring forth and sprout,
 giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
 so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;
 it shall not return to me empty,
 but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
 and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
Isaiah 55:10-11

"What I tell you in the dark, say in the light, and what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops" Matthew 10:27 (Our Summer Training theme verse)

A Personal Witness

Good Directions by Kendra

   I am really terrible with directions. I get lost in ANY new city, and I can never seem to find the easiest way back. I don't even think I can give directions to my own house! So as you can see, I am one lost girl! Luckily, there's one important place I know exactly how to get to. And that place is Heaven.

   In John chapter 14, Jesus says "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Through Jesus, I know that I will always be able to find my way to my Heavenly home. I know I couldn't get there by trying to be a really good person all the time, or seeking the world's routes. The only way to go is to have faith in Jesus Christ because of His death and resurrection.

   And while I know that the road of life is sometimes filled with tough times and difficult challenges, I also know that Jesus will always be there guiding my footsteps. There may also be times where I will try to find my own way away from God, a way that may seem promising at first but always ends in a dead end. God never leaves me stranded. He is always there to help me; to take me by the hand and lead me step by step back to the right path. Jesus is the right and only way to Heaven. It is only through Him that some day I will find my way home, without confusing directions, into my home in Heaven.
