2007 Travel Teams

One team was sent to New Orleans, Louisiana the week before Summer Training, working from Camp Restore. Two Travel Teams traveled from Summer Training July 16-25, 2007 to Austin & San Antonio, Texas and Kansas City.

Travel Teams Gather in Galesburg


Serving on a Travel Team

Summer Training 2008 was July15-21 in Champaign, Illinois. Travel Teams traveled from there July 21 - 30, 2008. 

2009 Summer Training will probably be July 14-20 in the Lincoln, Nebraska area. Probably Travel Team destinations will be areas to the north & west of there. Anyone desiring a Travel Team may contact Pastor Dan Smith or Mr. Dan Barz.

 

Team Members must be nominated by area directors. All nominations are due by April 1. Letters are sent to nominated Ambassadors. 

The qualifications are as follows:

  1. Be commissioned at the Witness Level and in the 9th grade or higher.

  2. Know all 3 witness methods

  3. Attended at least 6 weekends, 1 of which could be Training.

  4. Highly recommended by their Lead Director

  5. Able to lead a Witness Team

  6. Have attended one prior Summer Training

  7. Volunteering, Servant Attitude

Spring Break College Travel Teams

During their Spring Breaks Ambassadors from all Concordia Universities, Other college Ambassadors with the same spring breaks and home schooled high school students are invited to help develop new OAFC starts and encourage current groups. In addition to leading one or two weekends each, they visit Lutheran high schools and grade schools during the week along with churches in the evenings. 

The 2006 College Teams included a Seward team in Northern Illinois and a trip of 7 Ambassadors to Southern Florida. Pictures are on the SBTT page.

Travel Team stops often include visits at Lutheran schools. Those interested in scheduling a Spring Break or Summer Travel Team stop may contact Mr. Daniel Barz for more information. 

SCHOOL CHAPELS or ASSEMBLIES MAY INCLUDE (45-60 Minutes)

Singing.

Ambassadors tell how God's love has touched their lives.

Drama and/or Puppet show.

Explanation of OAFC ministry and how youth may be involved.

Demonstrating and sharing witnessing methods and skills.

Telling of experiences from witness surveying.

A short message based on God’s Word.

Other encouragement & sharing.

High Schools or Junior High could also include presentations to classes.
