WHAT IS OAFC?
OAFC is an evangelism movement involving LCMS youth and adults.
The OAFC ministry can be planted anywhere in the United States.
Local Groups meet monthly, with the focus of learning to more
effectively share the GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST'S LIFE, DEATH, AND
RESURRECTION AS THE ONE WAY TO HEAVEN.
WHAT IS OAFC SUMMER TRAINING?
A week long gathering of youth and adults coming together to
encourage one another, fellowship, learn, and grow. General and

ENVIRONMENT
OAFC Summer Training has MUCH TO OFFER for growth in Christian faith
and witness, and experiencing Christ's love from one another.
Together we encourage a setting where these blessings can be
realized to the fullest for each participant. So that we are not
hindered from the blessings, a few guidelines have been
established. This is the reason for the "What not to brings," the
"Dress code," and the "Responsibility Statement." In addition,
these 3 points are important:
-
We expect
each participant to be involved in all activities (exception:
parents with young children).
-
The FIRST
GOAL for each of us is to become more effective Ambassadors.
Jesus said, "Seek first the Kingdom of God and His
righteousness, and all these things (friendships, etc.) will be
added unto you."
-
Boyfriend-Girlfriend affections and cliquing-up as couples will
be discouraged.
A few general
assemblies and workshops are held at training, yet, most of the time
participants interact together in small family groups of about 20
people called "teams." The interaction and sharing that happens
within your team will bring many blessings of closeness,
encouragement, and spiritual growth. Each Team also interacts with
an assigned LCMS church of the area.
MEALS
AND LODGING
All meals
from Tuesday supper through Monday breakfast will be provided.
Breakfast is with your host family in their home. The other meals
are provided by area Lutheran Churches at the training site. You
will not need to purchase any meals during the week.
Each participant
stays in the home of a Lutheran family who lives in the training
vicinity, with at least one other person who is also attending
Training. This other person is generally from a different state,
and lasting friendships usually develop.
The generosity
of area congregations in providing meals and housing keeps the cost
of attending very low, and fellowship with host families is a
wonderful blessing too!
TRANSPORTATION TO TRAINING
If coming by Bus, Train or Plane,
the OAFC staff will arrange to pick you up at the terminal. Many
vans from many parts of the nation travel to training and seats are
often available. You would be welcome to pool a ride and share
costs. Contact an OAFC person in your area or the
OAFC Office for
additional contacts. |

Read
this Prayerfully...Plan accordingly.
"WHETHER YOU EAT OR DRINK
OR WHATEVER YOU DO,
DO IT ALL TO THE GLORY OF GOD."

VERY IMPORTANT
RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENT:
As
a participant in OAFC Summer Training, I realize that I am
responsible for my own transportation from my residence to the
training community and for return to my home following training
and/or travel team. Also, I will conduct myself in a responsible
manner. I will follow leadership and obey the Training policies
which have been established to help make the week a positive witness
to Jesus Christ and safe for all involved. I realize and accept that
if I break rules of minor offense (unauthorized phone use, improper
dress, boys wearing earrings, etc.), I will receive discipline from
OAFC leaders. I realize and accept that if I break rules of major
offense (smoking, off premises, drugs, etc.) I will promptly be sent
home at the expense of myself or my parents.
